[00:01:19] My sister was kind enough to host me at her lovely home for a long weekend of, well, rest. She had a few fun events planned, but mostly I slept in late in the mornings and napped

[00:01:31] in the afternoons, and we sat around watching the birds on her property and going for long walks. It wasn't initially supposed to be this way. She had a hotel in a fun town booked and reservations made for nice restaurants and

[00:01:45] a lot of time out on the town planned. But a few things led to that plan not panning out, but it truly worked out perfectly. I had no idea how much I just needed to rest.

[00:01:58] What's funny is that I think I'm pretty good at giving myself space on the day-to-day. I go to bed early and do afternoon meditations to recharge and eat well and move my body. But still, life is full and there is something profoundly healing about getting away from

[00:02:15] your day-to-day and reconnecting with yourself. We have so much inner potential that is hard to access when we are in the flow of our normal lives. My friend recently sent me a podcast about a man who spent three days to a week alone in nature each month.

[00:02:33] He used this time to really slow down and get still, to connect to his inner wisdom. Taking that much time away feels unrealistic for many of us, me included, but I know that there is something deeply true about prioritizing stillness to unlock your inner potential.

[00:02:53] When I think about my own potential, it can be overwhelming. Questions arise like, what am I going to do next in life? Am I still on the right path? But when I give myself the space to sit in nature, to rest, to meditate, and to make

[00:03:09] sleep the most important thing I do for a few days, the wisdom and guidance I'm seeking arises naturally. Meditation and sleep are such a wonderful pairing because meditation stills the mind which creates this powerful gateway for the body to relax too.

[00:03:27] All your systems are able to rejuvenate and your mind becomes more open to answers you may be seeking. Whether or not a retreat is on the books for you, tonight we are going to retreat into

[00:03:39] the sweetness of a deeply healing meditation to rest fully and unlock our inner potential. Take the time to get comfy and enjoy the sleep retreat that Billy has created for us. Anytime you take a break from the flow of day-to-day life, you encounter an opportunity

[00:04:07] to move into a new way of being. This is though the interruption in the current of your routine invites you to pause and reflect on where you are going, which direction you are facing. This is an important moment.

[00:04:23] If you don't change direction, you may end up where you are heading. When you are mindful of the path you are on, you can better understand if it's necessary to change course in order to reach your desired destination.

[00:04:38] You have a nature, you have a certain potential within you to become the highest version of yourself. Carl Jung phrased it like this, an acorn can become an oak tree and not a donkey.

[00:04:52] A sense of destiny provides an inner security that whatever life may bring your way, there's an impulse to carry you through those difficulties to help you reach that potential. Accept this invitation to an inner retreat, a moment to discover if your intentions are

[00:05:11] aligned with your highest vision for your life. As you relax your body and mind, you gain a sense of calm clarity. Trust yourself and the knowledge that arises from this peaceful state. When the mind is allowed to slow down and perhaps even become still, insights arise

[00:05:39] that seem even more true than our reasoning mind might have guessed. Be alert to these insights, they are the whispers of your own heart. They hold the wisdom of your highest potential, illuminating your true path. Lying down on your bed, find an optimal position for relaxation.

[00:06:11] Give yourself plenty of time to make any final adjustments to your clothing, sheets, pillow, blanket. When you've found a comfortable pose, allow yourself to become calm and steady. Take a deep breath in through your nose, and as you exhale through your mouth, release

[00:06:42] the cares and worries of the day. This is your time to retreat inward. Sometimes we have an opportunity to go to some destination or resort for a few days to get away from the day-to-day duties and responsibilities that occupy our time.

[00:07:05] When approached in a mindful way, a vacation can be a reset and realignment with our goals. Yet, in truth, we needn't travel externally to access this realignment. Every time you practice meditation is an opening to notice how your mind is oriented and notice

[00:07:28] whether or not you are pointed in the right direction. As you lie here in bed, observe the gentle rhythm of your inhales and exhales. Watching your belly rise and fall as you breathe. Inhale, navel rising. Exhale, navel falling. Inhale, navel rising. Exhale, navel falling. Inhale, navel rising.

[00:08:23] Exhale, navel falling. Continue breathing in this way. The belly is as soft as a pool of water, pool of water, settling deeper and deeper into relaxation. See yourself transported to a calm, peaceful place in your mind's eye. This is your inner retreat.

[00:10:11] This inner sanctuary is like a temple that you can enter into at any time when you need to get in touch with your true self. See yourself in this beautiful temple, situated in a tranquil forest, secluded and remote, away from the busyness of your routine.

[00:10:43] Feel the serene quiet of this inner temple. Breathe in the atmosphere and the vibration of this special place. Notice the colors in the space, the trees and flowers of the forest, the soft light diffused through the window, shining brilliant rays warming and soothing you.

[00:11:29] Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out. Birdsong floats on the silence that surrounds you. The air gently swirls and circulates in this light, open space. As you settle into this inner retreat, feel a sense of calm and safety wash over you.

[00:14:22] Here, you are free to explore the depths of your potential. In this stillness, you begin to sense a warm, golden light surrounding you. This light is the embodiment of your inner potential. Feel its gentle warmth enveloping you, filling you with a sense of limitless possibilities.

[00:15:05] Return to the gentle rise and fall of your belly. As you breathe in and out, inhale, navel rising, exhale, navel falling. Inhale, navel rising, exhale, navel falling. Inhale, navel rising, exhale, navel falling. As you exhale, imagine yourself walking along a path within the forest.

[00:15:53] With each step, you feel lighter, more connected to your true self. Along the path, you notice a beautiful, ancient door. This door represents the gateway to your untapped potential. See this door, and recognize its deep significance in your life.

[00:16:25] This moment has always been there, waiting for you to embrace the fullness of your own power, your own hidden talents and abilities that have lain dormant, awaiting the time when you unlock them. Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe in, breathe out.

[00:19:07] Now, imagine yourself sitting in a comfortable spot within your inner retreat. Feel the solid ground beneath you, the gentle breeze on your skin, and the soothing sounds around you. Allow yourself to become completely present in this moment.

[00:19:33] Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, feel your body sink deeper into relaxation. Let go of any lingering tension, releasing it into the ground beneath you. Each breath brings you closer to a state of profound peace and stillness. Allow yourself to dream.

[00:20:07] Visualize the life you desire, the goals you wish to achieve, and the person you want to become. See these visions clearly, as if they are already a reality. Feel the emotions associated with these achievements, the joy, the pride, the fulfillment.

[00:20:44] Bring your focus to the path that leads to these visions. It may not always be clear or straight, but trust that with each step you are moving closer to your highest self. Every decision, every action, and every moment of mindfulness is a step along this path.

[00:21:12] Take another deep breath in, and as you exhale, feel a deep sense of commitment to your journey. Know that you have the inner strength and wisdom to navigate any challenges that arise. Trust in the process, and have faith in your ability to reach your potential.

[00:21:49] Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out, breathe in.

[00:24:15] Listen to the whispers of your heart. That is your intuition. Your intuition guides you to places you had not looked for, and helpers will appear. Doors will open where they were locked in the serene silence of your inner retreat. Open your ears, and simply listen.

[00:24:50] Silence is ever-speaking. It carries a vibration that can be felt. Allow yourself to simply listen to the whispers of your heart.

[00:27:11] Your potential is a seed inside you that takes root in the heart, and prompts you to follow whatever it is that makes you come alive. Taking time to retreat inwards gives you the important space to receive these visions and insights about what truly matters to you.

[00:27:45] Let your breath travel all the way down to your feet. Imagine your feet beginning to glow with a warm, soft, comfortable light as you send your breath all the way down to your feet. Feet, feet. With each inhale, the light grows a bit brighter.

[00:28:23] With each exhalation, the light dims to a gentle glow. Feel the breath travel now to your calves.

[00:29:13] Let your pelvis glow with this warm, soft, comfortable light. The light swirls around the whole of the lower body as you breathe. Inhaling, the light grows brighter. Exhaling, the light dims, and you feel the lower body sinking heavily into the safety and comfort of your bed.

[00:31:01] Now, see the belly rise and fall with each breath. The navel region glows with incandescence. Each inhale, the light expands. Each exhale, the light contracts. Feel the energy of the navel and the whole of the abdomen as you watch the belly rise. Inhale, navel rising. Exhale, navel falling.

[00:31:52] Inhale, navel rising. Exhale, navel falling. Inhale, navel rising. Exhale, navel falling. The navel region connects you to your personal power. As this center glows brighter, feel an enhanced sense of self. Self-confidence resides in this region of the body. By strengthening this region with the power of your attention,

[00:32:51] you connect to your ability to face any challenge with the belief that you can do it. Everyone has doubts from time to time. Acknowledging these doubts, let them remind you to have faith in yourself and your ability to expand your skills and overcome obstacles.

[00:33:24] Breathe into the navel region, the center of the will. As this region glows with warm, comfortable energy, your confidence grows.

[00:34:43] Now, breathe into your chest. Feel the light expanding in the chest. With each inhale, on the exhale, the light concentrates at the heart center. Feel this light expanding and contracting. And let your heart be light.

[00:35:16] Feel the ease and carefree sense of joy that belongs to the heart region. Let down your burdens. Imagine this light is cleansing you. Fears, worries, and concerns are flowing out of you with every exhale. On the inhale, the light washes over you,

[00:35:55] and waves of peace and joy penetrate into the spaciousness of your heart center. Feel the ease and calm of being here, in this inner temple, in this forest retreat. This sense of peace is always there.

[00:36:32] You are able to access it at any time by breathing slowly and deeply into the sanctuary of your own heart. As you breathe into the warm glow of this space, affirm to yourself, I am worthy of love and acceptance, just as I am.

[00:37:00] I am worthy of love and acceptance, just as I am. I am worthy of love and acceptance, just as I am. It is only from a place of acceptance of oneself that the authentic potential within them can flourish.

[00:37:36] The light breathes into the throat region and into the crown of the head. Your entire body is now filled with this warm, soft, comforting, and cleansing light. From time to time, thoughts may enter and distract you from this warm, loving light that embraces and supports you.

[00:38:11] Let them come, and let them go. Gently bring your awareness back to the breath. As you inhale, this light that fills your being swells. On the exhale, it retreats deeper inward. Inhale, breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out. Sleep, sleep, sleep.
